Historical archaeology

Significant historical (post-contact) archaeological heritage can be found under the ground, as well as within standing buildings under floors, in ceilings and in wall spaces. Investigation of these deposits and features through archaeological techniques can tell us new things about the past, significantly contributing to the story of a place in ways that cannot be captured through historical research alone.
